BIO for Scott Vogel:
After graduating from Miami University of Ohio in 2000 with a degree in Marketing, Scott started his career towards the end of the “Dot Com Boom” as an assistant product manager at a small $30M online business-to-business information company in Cleveland, Ohio. Shortly after the Dun & Bradstreet acquisition in 2002, News America Marketing (a division of News Corp) recruited him to join their Chicago office as a sales associate calling on SC Johnson & Sons consulting on in-store advertising and FSI’s.
Realizing he had a passion for product development (and disliked wearing a suit every day), Scott pursued and landed a product manager position at the publicly traded Salton, Inc. (maker of the George Foreman Grill) in 2004. This is where he was mentored, professionally grew and learned extensively about innovation and international business. Through Salton, Scott met his wife Christine and this month they will celebrate 12 years of marriage (best decision of his life).
In 2007, Shark Ninja (based near Boston), recruited Scott away from Salton to join a talented team of associates as a senior product manager to turn the struggling near bankrupt company around. After 1 year and the turnaround of Shark Ninja realized, Keurig / Green Mountain Coffee recruited him away to join the growing/disruptive Boston based company in 2008. As a senior marketing manager at Keurig, he was fortunate to see and to be a part of an incredible team that helped grow a company from $300M+ sales to nearly $5B in just over 5 years.
In 2014, BISSELL recruited Scott to be the Associate Director and to lead of one of their largest business lines that was in double digit decline at the time. Scott and his wife immediately fell in love with Grand Rapids and wanted it to become their forever home. In March of 2017, Scott left his secure job and growing business line to open the first Nothing Bundt Cakes in Michigan with his wife to permanently set down roots in West Michigan to raise their 3 children (10, 9 and 5-year old) and run a business focused on giving back to the community they love.
In March 2020, Nothing Bundt Cakes Grand Rapids celebrated their 3rd birthday. They are grateful to share that since opening their doors they have been able to donate $100,000+ worth of cake and $30,000+ to local West Michigan charities they care deeply about.
